Henrietta Davis Obituary
Born on Oct. 23, 1919, in Chuckatuck, Va., she was the daughter of Alexander Abner and Rosa Johnson Griffin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Claiborne Davis and much loved son-in-law, Fred Allen.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Gwen Davis Allen of Newport News and Kathleen 'Kathy' Davis Sosebee and husband, Nathan, of Hampton; three grandsons, Frederick 'Rick' W. Allen Jr. (Kathy) of Gloucester, Jeffrey C. Allen of Newport News and Mark S. Allen (Debbie) of Smithfield; two granddaughters, Cheryl Sosebee McVicar (Scott) and Cynthia Sosebee Parrish (Todd); and great-grandsons, Nickolas, Christopher and Matthew Allen; and great-granddaughters, Gabrielle and Evelyn 'Ellie' Parrish and Emma McVicar.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, at Peninsula Funeral Home. Pastor Clyde DeLoach will officiate at the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at Peninsula Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
