John Ingram Obituary

WICOMICO - John Reynolds "Ren" Ingram, 95, of Wicomico Church died Oct. 2, 2008.
Ren was born in Hardings Wharf, Va., Jan. 20, 1913. He was a retired auto mechanic and a member of Wicomico Parish (Episcopal) Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Sallie Ingram, a sister, Alice Butler, and brother, Ralph Ingram.
He is survived by his wife of eight years, Lela Tomlin Ingram of Wicomico Church; a sister, Margaret Pitman of Heathsville; two daughters, Carole Powers (husband Ed) and Sue Mason (husband Bob) all of Newport News; two stepsons, Charles (Chip) Tomlin (wife Helen) of Roanoke, Tommy Tomlin (wife Elsie) of Wicomico Church; one stepdaughter, Evelyn Tomlin of Mt. Airy, Md.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, six great- great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, at Wicomico Parish (Episcopal) Church. Interment will be in Wicomico United Methodist Church cemetery, Wicomico Church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northumberland Preservation, Inc.-Shiloh School, P. O. Box 88, Heathsville, 22473. Ren completed his first six years there. Memorials may also be made to RGH Palliative Care Program, P. O. Box 1449, Kilmarnock 22482 of Reedville Fisherman's Museum, P. O. Box 306, Reedville 22539. Not too many memories of my childhood would be complete without "Uncle Johnny and Aunt Sally". Uncle Johnny was one of the kindest, loving, and a forever giving person I've known. I know he will be truly missed by all.
