Susan Kendall Zachary

ZACHARY, , SUSAN KENDALL Susan was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Naomi and William Kendall. She attended the University of Oklahoma, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta . After graduation, Susie came to Dallas and soon began a long and distinguished career with the advertising division of the Southland Corporation (now 7-Eleven). While there, she became the first female account executive and was a creative force behind the television, print, and radio advertising for Southland. Susie was an active member of The American Institute of Wine and Food (AIWF) and a past chair of the AIWF Caesar Salad Competition. In 2002 she received the National Volunteer Award from AIWF in recognition of her leadership and creativity. Susie was one of the Wining Women columnists for D Magazine, and made appearances on KRLD Radio. She also raised funds for the National Kidney Foundation and was a member of Dallas Knife and Fork Club. Susie is survived by her husband, Mitch Zachary, loving dogs Roxie and Maggie, and brothers Bill Kendall of Brentwood, California and Bob Kendall of Orlando Florida. Susie is also survived by step-children, their children, nieces, nephews and many, many friends. A Memorial Service will be held 4:00 Friday at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church.
