As Joe would have said, and many times did, "....and now for something completely different!". We also met Joe at Ashley's Halloween Party as Beetlejuice. He was fun to have as a brother-in-law,we had so much in common interests, art , music and movies, etc. We had some down times, but mostly great overall. Those were hilarious times and luckily we've got the videos and pictures to laugh at and remember by! He won't be forgotten, his legacy lives on especially through his art.

Penny, I was out of town and just got the news. Such a shame such a talented individual had to leave this earth so soon. May he rest in peace. Our prayers go out to you and your family.

Joseph was my uncle, but I came to live with him when he was only 7 years old, I would have only been 11 months when grandma brought me to live with them, he was a great big brother through out my entire life, there was never a time I can remember that we weren't laughing about something and how scared all of us were to walk down the hallway for fear of the monster that he had created might be waiting on us, we did many 8mm movies in our back yard and so many times he used me to makeup when he was trying out different molds. He help take care of my oldest daughter when she was very ill and he would keep her entertained while flying her around the room like an airplane, there are so many of those times I can set and remember, he will be greatly missed and a big void will fill our lifes when he's is not with us everyday. We all loved him so much and will miss him so much.
love you Joe,

I will miss Joe very much. I first met him when he attended a Halloween party at my house. He came dressed as Beetlejuice, the first of many great costumes I had the opportunity to see Joe wear...his talent in special effects and make-up artistry was fantastic. I am lucky to have a small painting that Joe did as a gift of our French Bulldog, Butterbean that sits on my night table...I see a little of Joe every night Thanks, Joe, for being a part of my life. I will never forget you.

Joe was one of the funniest, coolest, most talented, most patient fellows I have ever had the pleasure to know and work with. We had some GREAT times together. I don't know what I would have done without his help on many film projects... they probably wouldn't have happened at all. I feel very, very lucky to have had Joe as a friend and as a creative collaborator. He was a big part of my life, and also of my childrens' lives -- he impressed the living daylights out of them, maybe because he was such a big kid himself. Whenever I hung around with Joe I felt like a kid again... we had the same love of COOL COOL TOYS. But Joe could make his own toys, like no one else. What a cool, cool guy. There are not many like him, and he'll be sorely missed. -- Doug Smith dba Ivan Stang
