I only have good memories of Mr. and Mrs. Miers--when I married Gene's brother-in-law Bart, I immediately felt I had another family--the Miers clan! My prayers are with the entire Miers clan and extended families--the loss here is great, but what rejoicing there is heaven!

I remember when we all lived on Ellis St. in Fort Worth and Mrs. Miers was the most elegant mother on the block. She could've given lessons to Mrs. Cleaver. And she was the only mom that didn't run all us kids, usuallly the whole neighborhood, out of her yard while we played with Gene Carroll and Jerry. You had to be really lucky to have a mom like her. Those were golden days. My deepest sympathy to her family.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all at the loss of this dear, sweet lady. She taught all three of my boys during our days at Sagamore Hill. She was a very talented and loving woman. Thank you for sharing her with us.

Mrs. Miers was a delightful lady whose quilts were a feast for the eyes. Her face would light up when talking about her lovely hand work, all the bright colors and what she had done special for each family member. Without a doubt, she will be remembered with much love by all.

I will never forget the wedding gift that Velma had given me and my husband of 24 years now was her wonderful talent of making the flowers for our wedding. She was a very special neighbor to me and my parents the Harrison's. She and Gilbert always made you feel at home when you'd visit their house. She will be missed.
