Marie Elizabeth Acker, 93 of Dallas, died Thursday, February 17, 2011 in Rowlett, Texas
She was born February 18, 1918, in Colbert Ok.., a daughter of the late Grace Mae Todd Pulis and Martin Van Pulis
Married Robert C. Acker Sr. in Dallas on June 29, 1934.
Mrs. Acker was the last living Charter member of the Colonial Baptist Church in Dallas.
Marie’s favorite activities included playing board games, sewing, cooking for her family and friends. She was “Famous” for making the best fried pies. She enjoyed vacationing with her family, going on camping trips and visiting the National Parks and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she was also “Granny” “Grandma” and “Grandmother” having 8 Grandchildren, 10 Great-grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. And an inspiration to all of them.
Surviving are her sister, Mary Louise Boyers, two sons and two daughters, Robert Charles Acker Jr., James Leslie Acker, Susan Elisabeth Acker Whirlow, and Linda Katherine Acker Riddle.
Preceded in death by her husband Robert Acker Sr. , son John Stephen Acker, and 2 brothers Carl Leslie Pulis and James Edward Pulis Sr..
Visitation is today from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Services will be held Monday February 21st at 12 noon.
