Rob, I always think of you but I especially miss you on the 4th of July, since that was the last holiday I spent with you. Every time there is a thunderstorm, I think of being with you and Sharyn at your house and watching the lightning. I miss you all the time. I went to some amazing Bluejackets games this year and I think of you every time I go because we went together. I started watching the Cavs because my husband is a fan. Can you believe I like basketball? I just miss you so much. I tell my husband all the time how much he would have liked you. You two would have had so much in common- except he's a Cleveland fan! You have never left my heart, big brother. I just wanted you to know that you never will. I love you.

Rob left the Navy about 8 months after I came onboard. People always say after someone dies that they were a special person etc, but with Rob this was really the case. I fondly remember his going away party at GMM1 Brandenburg's house. But most of all Rob and I shared a love for Led Zeppelin. I remember when we went to the Robert Plant concert in Hawaii. This was the first time Robert Plant started doing Led Zeppelin songs again. When he did the first Led Zeppelin it was something that I will never forget. I will never forget Rob!!

A few days ago, on Thanksgiving I was thinking about my old Navy buddies. I started looking for Rob on facebook and learned that he had passed away. It was heartbreaking news. Rob and I were virtually inseparable while stationed on the USS Robert E. Peary. I have so many great memories that Rob is a part of. He was like a member of the family.
Rob was such a great person. He was always fun to be around and was there whenever someone needed help.
Even though it was a long time ago, I will always consider Rob one of my best friends.

I just recently found out about Rob's passing. I knew Rob many years ago while he was in the Navy on the Robert E. Peary. Him and Brian, my ex-husband, were the best of Navy friends.
Rob practicly lived with us while we were all stationed in Hawaii. When you are in the service and away from family your friends become family and Rob definitly was our family. We shared laughs...beer...holidays...and many late night talks. I have so many fond memories of him and the time that we all spent together.
Every day I knew him, Tom, and Brian were home because I heard the ice hitting against the patio and I knew they were filling up the cooler with beer. I never minded because he was as much my friend as Brian's and he always treated me and the kids with respect. When we needed a babysitter he was there, when we needed someone to watch the house while we visited family on the mainland he was there, when we had one day to pack and get out of Navy housing he was there, and always with a smile! I feel like we grew up together and although I haven't seen him in almost 20 years today this news still hurts deeply.
God Bless the Partlow family, as I know it does not get any easier and know that your son touched many lives that you are probably unaware of. He was a great man and a very special friend.

I BECAME GOOD FRIENDS WITH ROB WHEN WE
WERE IN NAVY GUNNERY SCHOOL AT GREAT LAKES. WE WERE ALSO STATIONED ON THE SAME SHIP - USS ROBERT E. PEARY.
HE WAS A GREAT PERSON, BUT THE PART OF HIM THAT IS STILL ALIVE IS EVEN GREATER-HIS SOUL.ROB WAS SO GOOD TO EVERYONE HE MET.
I WAS TRYING TO FIND ROB ON THE INTERNET. I AM SO SORRY THAT HE IS NOT WITH US. I KNOW THAT SOMETIME WE WILL ALL SEE HIM AGAIN.
I DID TAKE LOTS OF FILM WHEN I WAS IN THE NAVY. I THINK I HAVE SOME CLIPS OF ROB. IF ANY OF HIS FRIEND OR FAMILY READ THIS, I WILL SEE IF CAN FIND THE CLIPS. I THINK I HAVE ONE OF ROB WITH A NEW TATTOO ON HIS ARM.

I was deeply saddened and shocked to hear of Rob's death. I worked with Rob at Qwest about 5 years ago and have been in touch with him off and on since then.I commuted from Ashland Ky to Dublin everyday for work....After my second week there Rob told me to stop the driving and stay with him and Sharyn a few nights a week. Rob took me under his wing at work also as I was fresh from the Army and he showed me everything I needed to know on how to do the job there and do now. I remember all the trash Rob and I would talk during our Yahoo Fantasy football season...My life is truly changed from knowing Rob and it is truly changed now that I have lost him. I will hang on to the memories you gave homie. I love you and miss you already Rob and I am praying for healing for your family.

Rob,
Richard & I remember all the times you came over and stayed at the house with Dan. You would sit down to eat with us and you would not say a word. Richard would look at you and tell you to stop talking so much. He would say "what is wrong with you, don't you ever stop talking. You finally started to loosen up and you would actually talk to us and laugh. You had a wonderful smile and it would be great to hear you laugh. I know that we have not seen you for a few years but your memories will always be with us. We will miss you greatly. Prayers are with you Bob and Sandy and remember we love you both.

I was saddened to hear this news today. I knew Rob from MCI, and while I have moved on and time works on the memory, I remember Rob as being a very courteous, honest, caring and nice person. He was a man of high character and that is hard to find these days. God Bless Rob and his family.

As we all sat around last night, so many memories came out. We could easily write a book about our adventures as a gang of friends, each with our own chapters and adventures. I guess the funniest thing is as hard as I try to think of a bad time, I can’t. Never even a harsh word between Rob and I or few others for that matter. You see the greatest thing about Rob was that he was able to turn just about any memory into a good one. He could point out the funniest thing in any situation. Every weekend something was happening rather it be sitting around the garage at Rob’s or playing video games and having a beer, we always had a good time. Rob was truly the epicenter of our group as much we all always enjoyed each other’s company, Rob always brought us together. Rob was always there. Birthdays, cookouts, moving (he had to be sick of us moving). It really didn’t matter what was going on. Rob could rally the troops and make it fun. When I was a kid (6th grade) Rob always let me use his skateboard to ride to school with his brother Scott. That was the kind of guy he was. He would give you the shirt off his back and not think twice. He would do anything for you. I’m sure eve with him gone now he will be there with us, keeping us together. Making us laugh, cry etc. That was Rob. I’ll never forget his laugh… TEH

I hired Rob into MCI some 4-5 years ago and there was never a day that I regretted extending the offer. He was a quiet gentleman with an obvious depth beneath the calm waters he reflected outwardly. I am deeply shocked and saddened by his passing. 36 years is far too young, but the loss is made that much greater due to it being such a kind and gracious human spirit as Robs. You are missed my friend.
