Andrew Timothy "Andy" Olivares

Andrew Timothy 'Andy' Olivares, 22, died peacefully in his sleep on Wed., July 28, 2004 in Phoenix, Ariz. He was born on Oct. 4, 1981 in Phoenix. Andrew traveled and lived in many places, but called Duluth his home. He was a voice for the oppressed, talented guitarist, lyricist, poet, artist, anarchist, skateboarder and story teller. Music was his refuge and he loved to 'ride the rails'. He was a good brother and beloved son. He is survived by his mother, Kathryn Knight, father, Timothy Olivares, brothers, Alex and James Knight; sister, Crystal Olivares; maternal grandparents, Mary Knight of Duluth and Larry Knight of Remer; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Antero Olivares; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, Rick Davern, Alex's dad and close family friend, many lifelong friends, acquaintances and fellow travelers of the earth. GATHERING:A very informal, non-religious, remembrance gathering will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, in Bell Brothers Funeral Home, with a time of open microphone sharing at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions will be forwarded to a street outreach program, which will be decided at a later date, in his honor.
