Carl J. Miller Jr., age 90, of Millcreek, went home to be with the Lord, on Monday, August 3, 2015, at his residence.
He was born in Erie, Pa., on July 19, 1925, the son of the late Carl J. Miller Sr. and Grace Weigand Miller.
He graduated from Millcreek High School, and then went on to serve in the United States Navy, where he was an Aviation Mechanics Mate Third Class during WWII.
He was the founder, owner, and President of Forest Park Honda and Forest Park Garage for many years.
Carl had a great faith. He was the first altar server and a lifelong member of St. Julia Church, where he was also a Lector. He had recently been attending St. Jude Church.
He was a member of the American Legion Millcreek Post #773.
Carl loved anything mechanical. He raced speed boats, rode snowmobiles, enjoyed riding motorcycles and was an Enduro Rider. Carl was a pilot and a flight instructor for North Coast Air. He also enjoyed bowling in the leagues at the Siebenbuerger Club.
Carl's true love was spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and he was active in all of their lives.
He enjoyed music and loved to dance, as well as spending time at his home in Florida.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, whom he was married to for 62 years, Dorothy Miller; and a daughter-in-law, Lora Miller.
He is survived by his six children, Dianna J. Daubert and her husband Wayne, Kathleen Brown and her husband Paul, Mark J. Miller, and Carl P. Miller and his wife Anne, all of Erie, Grace E. Ore and her husband Daniel and Frances M. Wilson and her husband James, both of Fairview; 20 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
