Bill was a good neighbor who became a great friend. His unparalleled recall of events and details from early childhood and throughout his long and storied life gave him the ability to weave fascinating accounts about history, the military, meeting important people, and his multiple successful careers. Bill was a paratrooper before most people knew what a parachute was. But no story gave him more pleasure to tell than the ones that involved his family. Bill lived for his family and was intensely proud of his two daughters (“my daughters, the doctors”, he would occasionally say) and his two lovely and talented granddaughters. The last years of his life were immensely improved through his love for and friendship with Maxine, she brought a renewed happiness to his life for which he was very grateful. I will miss him. My thoughts are with you Maxine, Carol, Clark, Alisha, Jackie, Bob and Emma.
