Mary Finch Obituary

MARY FINCH PALM BAY Mary Lou Finch, age 56, of Palm Bay, Florida, died at Massa chusetts Gener al Hospital in Boston, Massa chusetts, on Sunday, Sep tember 23, 2007, due to compli cations caused by a reoccurring bout of ovarian cancer and DIC. Mary Lou was born in Salem, Massachusetts, the oldest child of Henry J. and Susan F. Armstrong. She graduated from Danvers High School, Danvers, Massachusetts, in 1968 and she further had two years of nursing training and recently became a licensed massage therapist in 2005, working at Space Coast Massage & Spa in Melbourne, Florida. She loved her job and all her friends at Space Coast. Mary Lou took as her motto through life the words of Rabbi Hillel: If I am not for me, who will be? For when I am for me, then I can be for all. She is survived by her devot ed husband, Paul R. Finch, of Palm Bay; her loving daughter and son, Tracey Ann Jones and Peter Jason Carr, of Palm Bay; a brother, Edward J. Armstrong, of Lexington, Kentucky; a broth er, Peter W. Armstrong, of Danvers, Massachusetts; a sis ter, Ann Marie Deitch, of Palm Bay, a grand-daughter, Chelsea H Jones, of Palm Bay, and another grand-daughter, Skyla Irene Carr, plus many nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Funeral Services will be held at the Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home in Melbourne on Satur day, September 29th, at 2 p.m. Friends and relatives will be honoring her with poems and favorite recollections. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Florida, P.O. Box 360357, Melbourne, FL, 32936-0357. Brownlie Maxwell Funeral Home in Melbourne is serving the family, (321) 723-2345.

Mary Lou was my big sister. She was also my very closest and best friend. My world will not be the same without her. My memories will carry me through. I'm grateful for my family and the new memories we will make. I hope she can see us wherever she is. I love you Mary Lou - I miss you so dearly....

Although I was never blessed to meet her, as a Salem-born DHS alumna myself, my sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Mary. I was moved by her life's motto, a testimony to a life well-lived and a woman who, no doubt, will be missed by many.
