Description
Founded in 1908, the Ferguson Funeral Home will soon celebrate 110 years of service to the families of Madison, Union, and Franklin Counties. Our heritage of service began with my great grandfather Charles D. Ferguson, a registered pharmacist who established himself as an “undertaker” and furniture merchant in Plain City. The family business was later managed by my grandfather, Jay D. Ferguson. He and my grandmother, Margaret Kent Ferguson, who was also a licensed funeral director, worked together for many years serving area families in their time of need. My father, Charles J. Ferguson followed in their footsteps by becoming a licensed funeral director in 1958 along with my mother, Betty Burns Ferguson who became licensed in 1985. Growing up in the funeral industry has taught me the importance of continuing the family tradition of dedicated and compassionate service. I decided to become a licensed funeral director and embalmer and joined the family business in 1986. My wife, Paula Thomas Ferguson became licensed in 1998, and we work closely together carrying on four generations of quality funeral service. My great grandfather laid the foundation to the standards we continue to uphold today. As a family-owned firm, people trust us to give them options on how to best memorialize their loved one. We will first listen to your needs, and explain the different choices you have. Regardless if you prefer traditional burial or cremation, we are sure to have a service option for you that will truly reflect the life that was lived, and fit within your budget. — Jay B. Ferguson
