Description
In 1935, William A. Trahan established his funeral service to the Bay Area on the southwest corner of Madison and Tenth Streets. While residential homes were converted and used as funeral homes, Mr. Trahan built the first funeral chapel of its kind in Bay County at its current location. From its very inception, the Trahan Funeral Chapel has been committed to the philosophy of providing the best service possible to every family of every faith who calls, regardless of their economic situation.
The transition to second generation ownership was accomplished in the 1970’s when William J. Trahan and Mark A. Trahan, sons of the founder, became the chief officers of the corporation. Bill and Mark continued the legacy their father started and operated Trahan Funeral Chapel until 2020.
Trahan Funeral Chapel’s professional service and commitment to the community continues today through local ownership and management. In 2021, Trahan Funeral Chapel changed hands when Bradley W. Monaghan purchased the business from Bill and Mark Trahan. As a Bay City native, Brad believes in the tradition of providing the best possible service and plans to continue his dedication to serving the community with the same values founded on decades ago, while also establishing and implementing new and innovative traditions.
