Julie Anne (Haneke) Velasco (1974 - 2013)

Julie Anne (Haneke) Velasco (Manor, Texas), 39, wife of Johnny Velasco, mother of Ty, sister of Mark and Debbie, daughter of John and Dianne, and friend was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 17, 2013. Born to John and Dianne Haneke (Manor, Texas) in Albany and raised in Oak Hill, New York on a 112 acre farm in the beautiful Catskill Mountains, she was a daughter of John and Dianne Haneke of Manor. TX. Julie always loved the outdoors riding horses and playing outdoor sports. She received her Bachelors of Education from Concordia University, Austin and Masters in Education Administration from UT Arlington, TX. Julie worked as a High School Math teacher, SPED Instructional Coach, high school volleyball, basketball, and softball coach in the Manor ISD. She was highly respected in her community and high school by students and fellow faculty. She loved the Lord and was a long-time member of Shoreline Church in Austin, TX. She succumbed to cancer after a long 2-year battle with the disease. She is survived by her husband Johnny Velasco, one child - her son Ty, her sister Debra Lindner, her brother Mark Haneke of Vancouver, BC, and her parents John and Dianne Haneke. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Shoreline Church on Burnet Road in Austin. Honorary Pall Bearers are: Tim Jackson, Jesse Velasco, Joel Velasco, Sadd Jackson, Andrew Jackson, Brien McKenzie, and Gary Krause. Special Caregivers: Diane Jackson, Sheila Mathews, Debra Lindner, and Geneva Monroe. We would like to thank Austin Oncology's Dr. Kocs and Austin Hospice's Dr. Friedman for all their love and care of Julie.
