Lawrence (Larry) Crandell Fisher, 83 passed away peacefully on Friday, May 11, 2018 in Dallas, TX. He was born April 11, 1935, in Centralia, WA to Myrle Fisher and Beatrice (Crandell) Fisher and grew up in Tumwater, WA. Larry attended Olympia High School and graduated from Central Washington University in 1958 with a degree in teaching. In December 1963, Larry married his life mate Sherrie Radke in Ellensburg, WA. He had many titles over the years…5th Grade Teacher, Sunset Drive-In Theatre Manager and "Minister of Maintenance" at the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ. Furthermore, he was a staunch volunteer in the community with the city of Tumwater Fire Department, Camp Quixote homeless shelter, and the Olympia Flight Museum. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Sherrie (Radke) Fisher of Dallas, TX, daughter and son-in-law Robin and Seth Gambetty of McKinney, TX, son and daughter-in-law Ryan and Laura Fisher of Bellbrook, OH and five grandchildren, Alexis Gambetty, Tyler Gambetty, Hayden Fisher, Logan Fisher and Owen Fisher. He is greeted in Heaven by his parents and eldest son, Ross Fisher. Larry was an avid reader and specifically enjoyed historical and science fiction books. He was always up for a good conversation about either! He was fascinated with planes and volunteered at the local air show many times and was fortunate to fly in a P-51 Mustang for his 70th birthday. Larry loved to cook and bake and enjoyed treating his co-workers at the church anytime the mood struck his fancy. After fully retiring from the fire department, teaching and his church duties, Larry enjoyed traveling around Western Washington with his wife and visiting their children and grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, June 10, 2018 at 2:00pm at the Brookdale Treemont Retirement Community, 5550 Harvest Hill Rd. Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the Tumwater Fire Department in support of Coats for Kids - Operation Warm at: https://give.operationwarm.org/give/184307/#!/donation/checkout.
