ROBERT YEARY Obituary

Yeary, Robert D. "Bob"

WEATHERFORD, TEXAS -
Robert D. "Bob" Yeary, 71, passed away in his home in Weatherford Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to the Nancy Yeary Women's Cancer Research Foundation (nancycancer.com).

Bob was born in Hollywood, Calif., on March 6, 1943, to Lulu Francis Bowden Yeary and Robert Jerome Yeary.

Bob graduated from Brea High School and received his bachelor's degree in business from San Jose State. He had a long and distinguished career in mortgage banking, a field in which he took pride in helping people purchase and retain their homes. Reverse Mortgage Solutions (RMS), which Bob established in 2007, grew to be the largest issue of GNMA reverse mortgage bonds in the industry. In 2013, Bob partnered with the Women's Cancer Research Foundation, which was renamed in honor of his late wife. Bob loved to fish at his favorite vacation spot in Sierra City, California in the company of friends, and he was known to light up a room with his charisma and his energetic smile. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his wife, Nancy Regester Yeary.

Survivors: wife, Linda Yeary; sons, Mark and wife, Sharon, Mike and wife, Kerry; four grandchildren, Madison, Benjamin, Ellen and Sarah; sisters, Cathy Hollowell and husband, Ed, Terri Ryan and husband, Steve; brother, Mark; brothers-in-law, Dick Regester and wife, Sandy, Steve Regester and wife, Sherri; and numerous nieces, nephews and devoted friends. I was at a memorial yesterday and the message was "after grieving comes gratitude". So I am very grateful that Bob was a great friend for over 30 years even though we seldom got together more than once a year. That once a year was in Sierra City in August and I cherish the memories of the great times we spent together.

Bob was my very first regional manager, along with Butch Johnson, my branch manager,in 1978 while working for Mason McDuffy Mortgage in Beaumont, Texas. He lit up the room when he arrived at our branch and was always there for his employees.
He will be missed......RIP Bob....

I will miss floating around the lakes in Sierra City with Bob which we have done every August for the past 30+years. Whether we caught fish or not didn't matter but it was a great way to spend some "quality" time together.
He was a good mate.

Bob was so full of life and I'm glad to have grown up with him in Brea. He had a ready smile and sense of humor, tenacity, vision, and a kind heart. He loved Jesus and is with Him now, filled with amazing joy. May Bob's family feel God's peace and comfort. Bob was a very special guy and made a difference. He'll be missed.

So sad that Bob died of cancer so soon after he established a foundation in his wife Nancy's name. Left out of his fishing story is that his Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity brother Tom Hennessy lives half the time in Sierra City. We posted this on our SJS Rat Line (independent alumni magazine) Facebook page.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. I had the honor of meeting Bob when he was married to my high school friend, Nancy. They were a perfect match and I am comforted by the fact that they are together again. He was a wonderfully sweet, caring and warm individual and we feel blessed to have known him.
