Diana Yankee Reardon (1944 - 2015)

REARDON, Diana Yankee Fort Worth -- Diana Yankee Reardon, 71, departed this life Thursday, July 9, 2015, after a brief illness. Memorial service: 4 p.m. Sunday, July 12, at Walnut Hill United Methodist Church, 10066 Marsh Lane, Dallas, Texas 75229. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made online to www.campesperanza.org Diana was born March 14, 1944 to Russell and Barbara Yankee. She graduated from Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth and Southern Methodist University in Dallas with a degree in Religious Studies where she received the Dedman College Isaac Bromberg Award for outstanding work in Humanities. Diana devoted her life to her family and community service; she was a gourmet cook, mother of five, contributor and editor of several cookbooks, a leader in La Leche League, a Stephen Minister, an instructor in Education for Ministry, and a founding board member of Camp Esperanza for children with cancer. Diana was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Lauren. Survivors: Husband, Bob; sons, Scott and wife, Melissa, Michael and wife, Whitney, Ryan and wife, Jennifer; daughter, Laird Shapley and husband, Rob; brother, Scott Yankee; grandchildren, Abby, Tanner, Wilson, Michele, Brady, James, and Harrison; and niece, Megan Yankee.
