Phyllis Marie Lemieux

Phyllis Marie Lemieux, 85, of Manchester, beloved wife of Edward Lemieux Sr., passed away Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at Manchester Memorial Hospital.

Phyllis was born in Manchester, New Hampshire, on May 25, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Henry and Josephine (Dooley) Sheehan. She graduated high school from Mt. St. Joseph Academy in West Hartford and then attended Central Connecticut State University in New Britain. Prior to her retirement, Phyllis worked as a bookkeeper at the Silex Co. in Hartford for several years and later worked for the UTC Research Library, Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Co., and Mass Mutual. She was a generous, giving, and loving person. Phyllis enjoyed swimming, tennis, square dancing with her husband, reading, and researching family genealogy. Phyllis loved visiting her children and grandchildren, and socializing with friends and family.

In addition to her beloved husband, Edward, she is survived by her loving family, David Lemieux and his wife, Alicia, of Vernon, Linda Brown and her husband, Greg of Sparta, Georgia, Edward Lemieux Jr. of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, Richard Lemieux and his wife, Sallie, of Midland, Georgia, Jeanne Seyfried and her husband, Don, of Plymouth, Michigan, James Lemieux of Huntington Beach, California; six grandchildren, Heather and her husband, Joey Zabarac, Christopher Brown, Jenny Brown, Donnie Seyfried, Annie Seyfried, Jenny Seyfried; a brother, Henry (Hank) Sheehan and his wife, Pat Carnnahan, of Torrance, California; a niece, Christine Doerr; a nephew, Robert Sheehan, and their families; and her close relatives, Richard and Mary Lemieux of East Hartford.

Family and friends may call Friday, Aug. 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Church, 45 Ludlow Road, Manchester. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
