GILPIN, FLORENCE, 80, of Louisville, formerly of Campbellsville, KY, passed away Sunday March 18, 2012, at Norton Audubon Hospital.

She was retired from Jefferson County Board of Education.

She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Ansel Newton.

She is survived is by her children, Johnny Newton, Bobby Newton (Teresa), Susie Neace (Earl), Buster Newton (Gina), and Carolyn Porter (Paul); brothers, Roy Gilpin and Cecil Gilpin (Darlene), sisters, Nellie Schmidt (Karl), Bertha Anderson, Frances Bradley and Susie Roberts; 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a special friend Dale Turner. Her funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Ratterman Grand Chapel, 4832 Cane Run Rd., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be noon - 8 p.m. Wednesday.
