It's as if she were right here. That's a reflection of her radiance in life. It hurts to think of the end, but in that terrible event, a searching consciousness may hear a word of radiant resolution.

Dear Adam and Eric,
Just out of the blue, I thought of Regina while traveling a couple weeks ago. I googled her and saw the horrifying headlines. A flurry of emotions as I try to focus on only the good: Regina's laughter, advice, caring, and feisty love that she offered me as an in-home care social worker at the Center for Older Adults many years ago. I will choose to remember her in that way.

I had the brief but wonderful pleasure of getting to know Regina through my position as a staff member at Weavers Way Coop in Chestnut Hill. She was a faithful customer who could be counted on to buy 3 packages of zinc lozenges each time she came in, and who would tell us her member number every time, though we'd long ago memorized it. Her visits to the store were bright spots in my days; she is missed. I'm so sorry for your loss.

To Eric and Adam and your families,
You have all been foremost in my thoughts since I heard-- your dignity and strength have been exemplary models of Regina's influence and compassion. I always think first about her smile, which never changed over the many years of knowing her. She took such joy from being with her family and friends. She was both feisty and soft,-- always generous, curious and kind as they come. She will be terribly missed but celebrated by all who knew her. I hope you feel the love coming your way from friends and family from all over. And I hope that great memories bring you peace.
Love,
Rosanne Somerson

Sincere condolences to Regina's family and loved ones from the staff, members and board of Center in the Park.
We are carrying out the legacy that she established as one of the very first staff members of Center in the Park when it was the Northwest Center for Older Adults and located in the Women's Y.
After 22 years as the Center's Associate Director, Regina continued her positive aging journey through service in the community . . . and, she remained a model for us to follow, as well as a generous contributor to the Center's annual campaigns and its special appeals, clearly demonstrating that the Center still held a special place in her heart.
We will remember how she lived, laughed, smiled and gave generously of herself to the community, older adults and Center in the Park; and, we will honor her as we continue to live out the Center's mission and uphold her legacy.

Regina by Samuel Exler
Well, so I love you.
What a surprise.
You are the unexpected gift
that came
when it wasn't my birthday.
What happiness, to love
and to be loved. Sometimes
I can't tell
which is which.
My father wrote the poem above to express his love for Regina.
