ZIRNHELD, ROY RONALD "ZIRNIE" JR., 79, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Christopher East Nursing Home surrounded by his daughters.

He was the owner/operator of Zirnie's Tavern and Roy Zirnheld Jr. Wholesale Produce.

He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, a proud University of Kentucky Alumni and a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW Post 2921-Churchill Downs and the American Legion Post 229-Woodlawn Ave.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Colleen Zirnheld; and his parents, Roy Sr. and Ethel.

He is survived by his daughters, Pam Sosh, Sherry Holland (John), Kim Dillman (Tim) and Rhonda Coble-Cragen (Rick); 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers and a sister.

His funeral will be held Monday 10 a.m. at Joseph E. Ratterman & Son, 7336 Southside Dr. with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Sunday at Ratterman's.
