Papsis, SSC, Sister M. Cecilia Sister M. Cecilia Papsis, SSC, 89, beloved member of the Sisters of St. Casimir for 69 years, died after a long illness on May, 22, 2012. A native of Chicago, Illinois Sister served as Principal at Holy Cross School, 46th & Wood, Chicago, and also as music and classroom teacher on the junior high and secondary level. Sister is survived by her sister, Sister Theresa Papsis, SSC; nephew, Anthony Papsis; sister-in-law, Katherine Papsis Jarackas; step-sister, Helen Smith, and cousins, Catherine (Michaelangelo) Russo, Michael (Linda) Naughton, James (Anita) Naughton. Sister's parents, Bruno and Mary Papsis and brothers, Bruno, Jr. and Anthony, preceded Sister in death. Visitation Monday, May 28, 2012, 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by Vespers for the Deceased, at the Sisters of St. Casimir Motherhouse, 2601 W. Marquette Rd. Chicago. Funeral Mass Tuesday, May 29, 10.00 a.m. at the Motherhouse Chapel. Interment St. Casimir Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SSC Retirement Fund.
