Thomas St. Clair Obituary

Thomas "Tom" St. Clair

WOODVILLE: Tom St. Clair, age 70, of Woodville, OH, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Otterbein Portage Valley Senior Lifestyle Community, Pemberville, OH. He was born on January 17, 1946 in Port Clinton, OH to Charles and Jeannette (Schultz) St. Clair. On September 12, 1992 Tom married his best friend and soul mate Judy Smith. He worked 35 years at Brush Wellman, now known as Materion Brush, as an instrumentation millwright. Tom was an honorably discharged U.S. Navy veteran serving on the USS Forrestal Air Craft Carrier. While in the service he was a Plane Captain helping ready the Blue Angel squadron. Some of his memberships include: Gibsonburg American Legion Post # 17, Gibsonburg Masonic lodge # 575 and the Ohio Decoy Collectors and Carvers Association. Tom will always be remembered for his gentle, funny and good natured personality. When he walked into a room you were a potential friend, when he left the room you were a friend. Tom enjoyed spending time with family and friends and could usually be seen at Speed Trap setting at the liars and big tails table or at almost all local auctions "picking" just about anything that was unique or an antique. Tom was known as "bulky hauler" because he traveled to Shipshewana every Wednesday for the hunt of deals.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife: Judy of Woodville, son: Shawn (Valerie) St. Clair of Sylvania and grandson: Maxwell St. Clair, daughter: Jennifer (William) Russell of South Carolina, sister: Barbara (Roger) Staccone of Mississippi and his canine best friend: Dino. Tom was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, from 2-8 PM at the Marsh Funeral Home, 201 W. Main Street, Woodville, OH where funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 10, 2016. Officiating will be Rev. James Budke. A Masonic service will be presented by Gibsonburg Masonic Lodge on Tuesday evening at 7:30 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to: Kidney Foundation or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family wishes to extend special thanks for the exceptional care given to Tom by the nursing staff at the Dialysis Center and especially Dr. B. Narra and Dr. Nadaud . My condolences for your loss. I lost my dad at 70 too, just last year. Cherish the memories and keep making Tom proud. Sounds like he was a wonderful guy.
