NEWSOME, ROBERT I. "BOB," 67, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2012.

He was a graduate of Western Kentucky University, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity, and University of Louisville where he received his Master's of Education.

Bob was a teacher in the Jefferson County Public School System and retired from Eastern High School, where he was also a 1962 graduate. He also was an active member of the Civil War Round Table and served in the U.S. Marine Corp.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert I. "Buck" Newsome.

Bob is survived by his mother, Isabel Newsome; sister, Pennie Miller (Gifford); brother, Scott Newsome (Laurie); nephews, Justin Miller (Jessica), Travis Miller and a great -niece and great-nephew.

A memorial visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Pearson-Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road. Burial will be private at a later date.
