To The Carl Platou Family,

As a new hospital administration student (1971-1973) at the U of Minnesota, my class and I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Platou and also to hear him speak to our class. He was an inspiration to me who was new to the healthcare field and he set the standards high for the leadership qualities and values to strive for in one's professional and personal life.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

I was honored to know and work with Carl for the last few years at the University of Minnesota at the Medical Foundation. I always found myself walking a little taller after chatting with him. His loving kindness was felt through his strong handshake and smiling eyes. We are all better people for having spent time in the company of the Greatest of the Greatest Generation, Mr. Carl Nicolai Platou. My deepest condolences to Susie, his children, family, and wide community of friends. With great love and admiration,

Greatest sympathy to the extended Platou family in the loss of Carl. His life is one to celebrate as he touched many, including me countless times. I was blessed to work with him and for him. His advice and wisdom I shall never forget. He has this knack of making you feel that you were the most important person to him while bringing out your best. His presence changed my life for the better. God's blessings to him and to the Platou family.

With deepest sympathy to the Platou family during your time of sorrow. Psalms 46:1 says: God is for us a refuge and strength during this difficult time and May God grant you the comfort to endure.

I learned a lot professionally from Carl about valuing and utilizing the contributions of the great minds and wealth of experience in the individuals he attracted to serve on the Fairview Board of Trustees. My sincere condolences to his family. Patricia Harger (Fresno, CA)
