Anna Anselmo Obituary

Anna was born in August 1918, in Trinidad, Colorado, and was taken home to be with Our Lord on Easter Sunday April 8, 2007. Her parents were Ventura and Antoinette Gagliardi, and she was the eldest of nine children. Married to Thomas Anselmo in October 1940, they raised seven children while living in Trinidad. In 1965, the family moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where Tom accepted a teaching position at the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind. From 1966 to 1981, Anna worked at Penrose Hospital as the head cashier in the business office. Anna lovingly and selflessly dedicated her entire life to God and her family. She was a sincere and devout Christian all her life. Widowed in 1988, Anna's family continued as her greatest treasure. She was a fabulous cook, and her home was the center of festivities and family gatherings. She treasured these visits, and all her guests left with a warm heart. Anna is survived by her brothers John (Peggy) Gagliardi, Gene (Ellie) Gagliardi, and sisters Rosann (Rudy) Icabone, Patricia (Jerry) Ridgeway, sisters-in-law Sarah (William) Cunningham and Josephine (Frank) Gagliardi. Anna's children are Thomas (Kathy) Anselmo, Ann Marie (Tom) Lohaus, Frank (Vicki) Anselmo, Mary Helen Miller, John (Marilyn) Anselmo, and Judine (Dan) Carkner. Anna also has eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. Her memory will be cherished forever. She is preceded in death by her husband Tom Anselmo, brother Frank (Josephine) Gagliardi, sisters Helen (Sam) Concialdi and Marie (William) Colangelo, daughter Sylvia and grandson Anthony Anselmo. Funeral services will begin with the Rosary at 1:00p.m., followed by celebration of the Mass at 1:30 p.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church on April 16, 2007. Reception will follow in the parish hall. Burial will be in Trinidad, Colorado.

Jesus said, 'I am the Resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: AND whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die."

I extend my condolences to the Gagliardi and Anselmo Family in their time of loss.

MH and family

I was so sad to read about your Mom’s death. My heart aches for you, but how consoling that she was called to God on such a glorious day as Easter Sunday, undoubtedly blessed with extraordinary graces from Our Lady.

I’ll miss her sweet, smiling face and watching as she held your arm when you walked into church.

My prayers are with you and your family and hope you can feel the love that comes with them.

God bless you my friend, Susan
