Dave -
Happy 37th Birthday! I don't want to celebrate today without you, since we were supposed to be celebrating our birthdays together. Instead, I will send my birthday greetings up, and believe that you will send yours down. I love you and miss you every day!

Dave was a good man. I was on the police department when Dave lost his leg. It was heart breaking to see a fellow officer injured so severely and not be able to help him. What do you say? What do you do?
The answer to those questions were answered several years later when I was injured and it ended my police career. Dave called to check on me all the time. He was so compassionate and caring. He helped me through some very difficult times. He knew what to say and he would come over to BBQ. He cared!
Dave was a true hero and friend. It is an honor and privelege to call him a friend.
I met Dave within the last year through his role as an Aitkin County prosecutor. His dedication to his work amazed me. I remember recently when he returned a call from the office at 7PM. I joked that he should be paid by the hour and he just laughed. It wasn't a job to him, it was his life. He was that devoted to what he was doing. I had no idea of his background before this time. I just knew that there was something very special about this man.
My sincere condolences to his family, friends and co-workers. I want to thank his family for raising such an outstanding young man who has had such a profound effect on those around him. He made a huge difference in every life that he touched during his short time with us. I also want thank Dave for making a difference in mine.
Dave's life was a gift to us all. He spent every day trying to make this world a better place.....a true hero.
I didn’t know Dave but I went to high school with his younger brother Chad. As someone who lost an older brother in 2003 I can empathize with what you are going through.
My condolences to the Loeffler family.
