Dwayne was a very neat great man, he was a good friend of my brother Owen Wallin. They played baseball, & tennis together -going to State Dbls. They graduated in 1950. Dwayne started his writing career with the West Central Tribune in Willmar, MN. He will be missed. Mary L Olson (Willmar, MN)

Dwayne was a good friend. I am saddened by the news.
I am saddened to learn of the passing of a "special friend", a great writer, and great golfer. He was my deceased husband, Augie Schmidt's boyhood bestfriend and mentor. Augie always spoke so highly of the Netland family and Dwayne always remaind a true forever friend. I am sorry for Joanne's lose and for Peter's lose. We will all miss him.

I went way back with Netty and found him to an excellent writer who had an uncanny ability to find a different twist on a story. In addition to being an outstanding writer, he was a good person who was fun to be around. We shared some great times on the golf circuit.
