My Darling Leon, I miss Maggie so much but am so glad that she is safe in your arms now. John is taking her ashes to Calgary, Neil wanted to keep them near yours. I have saved some of her ashes to be buried in my flower garden and Charmaine has some on her alter. Thank you for letting me have Maggie for the last 3 years of her life we made her very happy and comfortable.
I miss you brother, we often think of you, talk about you, especially when Robin is around we remember the good times. I have the tons of photographs we took and your cane is at my front door. The lambourghini is downstairs.
I know you visit us sometimes and I remember what you said when I see yellow.
Love you Leon

Marc ia, I didn't know Leon, but I know you. And I am sure he was the best brother ever. He is a hero. He could teach us a lot. You are a wonderful sister for doing this for him and his family.

Christine,

We were very saddened to hear about your brother Leon’s passing so soon after his well-earned retirement from the Calgary Police Force.Mavis and I have known Leon and his wife Jeanine, nee Wright, for roughly 45 years. We met Leon when Mavis was working for Jeanine in the Brittania Biscuit (Biscoot) Company office in Alipore, 24 Parganas, on the outskirts of Calcutta where Leon used to pick her up after work and toodle off on his motorcycle. Our friendships grew during our early years of camaraderie through social and personal activities with both our families begetting a child each; a boy for Leon/Jeanine and a girl for us.
Eventually, changes in our lives due to career changes forced us apart with us immigrating to Canada while Leon joined the British Foreign Office as a Security Officer. This assignment took him to Ceylon, France, Eastern Europe, Mexico and eventually, upon him resigning from the British Foreign Office, to Calgary, Canada.

After a brief stint in security with a few commercial businesses Leon joined the Calgary Police Force where his experience in the British Foreign Service and his academic qualifications placed him in good standing in the Calgary Police Department where he stayed until his retirement.

Leon and Jeanine were very good, caring, personal friends over the years. Leon was always ready to crack a joke of varying colours, loved Calypso music of which he gathered a wide collection, was a good but somewhat reluctant ball room and classical dancer, loved his “K9’s” especially Bruno who was 10 times the size of Leon’s dog in Calcutta. Leon would take me for a ride on his motorbike and scare the living daylight out of pedestrians walking on the road meant for vehicular traffic.

Leon also enjoyed eating at his sophisticated “roadside” restaurant just off Sir Stuart Hogg ( New) Market …NIZAM’s !!!. We would all pile into a “ghorah Gharri” ( a horse drawn carriage) and order Karti-Kababs; fantastic stuff, healthy food with all the grease dripping down our elbows and finish off with luddoos and a sweet lussie.

Christine, please convey our condolences to the family and friends of Leon. We will miss him.

Please also convey our salaams to James Earl and the Bonners.

With love and best wishes,

Hubert & Mavis.
