Born Beverlee Ann Plowman on June 5, 1936 to Clarence "Clancy" and Violet M. Plowman, who are deceased. Beverlee is survived by her sister, Barbara J. Wein of Grand Junction; three sons, Kent W. & Laura Maurer of San Diego; Mike F. & Patti Maurer of Littleton; and Steve B. Maurer of Cortez; four aunts, June Wyckoff of Bradbury, CA; Della (Earl) Dart of Ramona, CA; Jesse Alstatt of Arcadia, CA; Mary Plowman of Carthage IL; and a cousin, Sharon (Jim) Quinlan of Grand Junction. Along with her husband, she is also survived by five step-children, Amy Louise & Jon Dyer, Duke Owen & Kim Taylor, Marshal F. & Irene Taylor, Jennifer M. & Scott Parsons and Anthony Scott & Shelly Taylor. Of Gene and Beverlee's combined children, they produced 17 healthy grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She attended Grand Junction High School, graduating in 1954. Beverlee was a great softball pitcher during her high school years, playing for a variety of city teams. Beverlee was always involved in the Grand Junction community. From her early days with the League of Women Voters to her most passionate love as a member of the American Contract Bridge League Unit #364, where she held the office of President for 3 years. Beverlee achieved status as a Silver Life Master with over 1170 lifetime accumulated points. She played duplicate bridge for over 17 years and traveled to numerous national tournaments in other cities and states as well as belonging to the "Blue Spruce" and "Bridge-N-More" clubs. She enjoyed fishing, horseback riding and working at their cabin on the Uncompaghre with Geno and Abby, their loyal Jack Russell Terrier. She always took great pride in her home-inside and out. Her flowers in the summer were beautiful. She was so dedicated. Beverlee was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Beverlee was a loving wife to her soul mate, " Geno," as well as the greatest mother and grandmother a child could ever ask for on this earth. She will be missed greatly and never forgotten. We were all blessed to have her as a part of our lives. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2005 at 9:30 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. I am deeply sorry to hear of Beverly's death. I knew her in high school and also her sister, Barbara. Her mother worked with my mother at J.C. Pennys. She was always a fun, pleasant lady.
