Charles "Charlie" William Wagner
Charlie and I were same generation new hires at National. He was a wonderful man, a real gentleman, and I am saddened to learn of his death. You have my deepest sympathies.
Condolences to the family. I knew him as Billy and through my Aunt Eileen. I appreciated his love and care for my Uncle Lew. Sorry for his early departure. Ray Rummer
So sorry for your loss. Charlie was a wonderful family man. He loved life so much. He will really be missed,
I flew with Charlie at three airlines National, Pan Am and Delta. A friend and I were discussing him and we both remarked at how fine a man Charlie was and how pleasant he was to fly with. He spoke of his family and the farm in Ohio often. His pilot skills were superb. I'm grateful to have known him and proud to call him a friend. May his flight West be smooth and free of turbulence.

I saw the article about Charlie and his son Kevin at the Fun and Sun air show in Miami he was returning from when he crashed. I checked out as a Captain on the B_727 shortly after Charlie came to work and flew with him a number of time. It was always a pleasure.
Having served as Chairman of the National Pilots a couple of times I can attest to the personal and professional respect his fellow pilots had for him. It is a great loss to all and particularly his family.
