Daniel L. Backenstose, Jr.
We have lost a great friend Teri, but we know how much you meant to Dan. We have had many, many wonderful lamb roasts and other celebrations at Buffalo Springs. I recall one in which he made our then 7-year-old son Jordan a hit of the party when he roasted his newly caught rainbow trout for hors d'oeuvres for everyone. So many wonderful memories of a wonderful and talented human being. Our hearts go out to you Teri.
My sympathy to the family. Keeping in mind the scriptural hope of everlasting life can help sustain you during this difficult time.
Dan has been a friend since the mid-60's. My thoughts are with Teri, his family and his many friends. Dan made us a Christmas Ornament as a gift years ago and it goes on our tree every year. His woodworking craftsmanship was beyond compare.
Heartfelt sympathy to Teri and dan's family. A loving and special
light has gone out in the world with Dan's passing. I am honored
and glad to,have known him.
I will always remember Dan as a true friend and as a staunch supporter of Music at Gretna. His lamb roasts, as so many people have already mentioned, were memorable for many reasons. When I was asked where I wanted my farewell party as Executive Director of MAG, I immediately said "at Dan's," and it was a great evening. My heart goes out to Teri who knew him best. Teri- you must have been a great comfort in his final days. Rest in peace, Dan.
