Doris M. Kneppel

December 21, 2013
I'm deeply saddened by the loss of Doris. She was an unofficial mentor of mine in 1988 when I first entered the public schools as a Music Teacher. She volunteered her time to help me have a greater understanding of elementary students and effective teaching techniques. She stood by me through some very difficult times and struggles I had in my apprenticeship and I will forever be grateful. I'm now in my 25th as a public school music teacher and I carry with me the wisdom she passed on to me. In turn my students are benefitting from her wisdom. I'm proud of the work I've done and in part I owe this to Doris. Doris, I hope you can feel the appreciation and love I have for you as a wonderful mentor. I will miss sending you those holiday cards- god bless you,

Sig, Debra and David, You might remember my mother, Evelyn Roberts, who worked with Doris at Kiel School and me - I babysat Debra & David while Doris attended classes at Wm. Paterson. It was so long ago but I remember Doris so well. She was a fine woman and her sense of humor was precious. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Gloria and the Kneppel Family,
I am very sorry for your loss. From what I read, it seems like Doris was a wonderful, kind and giving woman. Dedicating her life to the greater good of our youth is no small task. She will reain in my prayers.
With love, Amy Duval

She was my 4th grade teacher at Stoneybrook. I can remember her teaching us the longest word in the dictionary, "antidisestablishmentarianism" Now that I'm a mom, I think of Mrs. Kneppel as I teach my own children this word. She was, indeed, a very special woman and a gifted teacher. My deepest condolences.

I had Mrs. Kneppel as my 4th grade teacher at Stoneybrook School. I can still remember her teaching us the longest word in the dictionary; antidisestablishmentarianism. Now that I'm a mom, I think of her as I teach my children this long, long word. My deepest condolences to you all. She was, indeed, a very special woman
