My condolences to the Beckett family. I have such fond memories of growing up in Athens with Mrs. Beckett as a teacher and Mr. Beckett as City Council president or mayor, and Meg and I were classmates. You all have my deepest sympathy.
Ed and Lee are neighbors of ours. I don't have a real story to tell, he was always very friendly. Saying hi to us even if they had him on a stretcher and going back to the hospital. He was always very positive. He would ask every once in a while about my daughter Victoria. He was so excited to find out the got accepted to Florida Gulf Coast University. You will always live in our hearts and prayers.
Dear Lee and family
I am so saddened today as I read the passing of Mr. Beckett. He was my boss and also my friend. I loved and enjoyed everyday that I worked in the office with him. He was a wonderful caring person and also with the laugh and smile that made him so special. I know he is in God's arms, but he will always be in our hearts. My deepest sympathy to you and the family. May God be with you at this time sending prayers
Ed Beckett was one of the nicest person I ever knew. I first had Mrs Beckett as a English teacher at the then York Local School in Buchtel. They were truly a team and helping students as much as they could. Ed made sure I had a work study job in his office at Ohio University. I ate at his table, I knew his daughters when they were young. A finer man God did not create.
