Helen was a wonder to me, and still is. I was a new arrival to my own immediate family, and to others. But the ones that made the deepest impression were the Sahagians and Chakerians. The Sahagians in Dorchester; Helen and I on bikes riding the local hills. The Chakerians, her sister Florence, a family in Albuquerque, a city near a storage of A-Bombs. They all welcomed me with warmth and challenging language, especially Helen--we were geographically closer, in Boston and New York--Yes, she was a wonder to me, because I was on the verge, growing up, hungry for a companionship of knowledge and ideas--and met Helen.
