I just found out about Jay's passing a couple of days ago. I first met Jay years ago when we worked at Dale Sales.
We are both Vietnam veterans, and I made contact with Jay again when I needed help filing a claim with VA. Jay was the Veterans' Service Officer for Vanderbugh County. His expertise was a big help. Jay was an excellent service officer who helped a lot of veterans. I am extremely grateful to him for his help and friendship.
Jay was such a gentleman whenever you called him or saw him in person. He was always quietly diligent while helping veterans and their families file for claims and benefits. We are so sorry for the loss that his family must bear. Just know that he was very well respected and made such a difference in so many lives.
Jay helped a lot of veteran's get their VA benefits. He was a no nonsense guy that didn't beat around the bush without being rude. And a lot of people resepected him for that. He never seemed to get excited or in a rush at work no matter how busy or what the situation was. He will be missed...
As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.
Linda,Joe and I want to extend our sympathy to you and your family. We can't think of Jay without remembering Dale Sales Christmas parties, softball games and Thurs. nights at the bowling alley. He will be missed by many.Joe&Barb Hays
