What a wonderful couple-Elsie used to sew for me and make baton outfits for me in high school. She was the sweetest little thing and i know Monnie loved her so. So Sorry for your loss but to go together like this...wow...what a love. My mom Mary Waymire remarked,"thats what i want to do with your dad".
All of the Marcuson family are in our thoughts and prayers, reading Jason's wonderful tribute to his grandparents and knowing Monnie and Elsie sure make
us proud to know this great family .
Dear Les and Jeff,
I was so saddened to hear from Carmen about the passing of your beloved mother and father. How hard it must be to lose them both within a few hours each other. I can only imagine that Elsie must have loved Monnie so much that she needed to go with him.
I have so many wonderful memories of growing up a couple of houses away from yours on South I Street. Your parents were always so warm and caring to me. I have the fondest memories of Elsie playing board games with us, making lunches for us, calming our occasional squabbles, and always being there to support us no matter what. I will also never forget all the time Monnie spent playing baseball and football with us and teaching us skills. He was a bit of a father figure for me at that time of my life.
I will be forever grateful for the love, kindness and joy they provided to so many of us kids who grew up together many years ago on our block on South I Street. They were just such lovely people. Gone but not forgotten...
Dear Les, Jeff, and family,
I just heard this sad news late last evening and am sorry I did not know sooner. Our deepest sympathy is with you and all of your family. I personally have such wonderfully fond memories of both Monnie and Elsie, and what a support Elsie was to me in my growing up years, not only as a neighbor but also with her special seamstress talents; I spent much time over many years in her sewing room. I very recently enjoyed chatting with her at the Parkview Community Care Center while visiting my mom, Cleda Beth, and was so pleased when she recognized me and called to me from across the room. I have and will always carry these fond memories of both of your parents. Our thoughts are with you during this time.
Dear Jeff and Kathy,
Our sincere sympathy to you and your family. We're praying for peace and comfort for you now and in the days ahead.
