Dear Maggie and Family,
So sorry to learn of Dr. Teel's passing. Dr. Teel was one of my favorite profs in the Plant Science Dept. at DE and I was one of his TAs in grad school. I was always amazed at the depth of his knowledge and how easy it was for him to identify all the grasses...not so easy for me...they truly all look alike! I know that Merle will be missed by everyone who knew him. God Bless, Stacey Chirnside, now a prof at UD.

So sorry to hear of Merle's death. I have very fond memories of him from Covered Bridge times when you all generously entertained me as a fresh immigrant. What a great talker he was, and a fund of useful tips that I have put into practice, like soaking the flatulence out of beans! My thoughts are with you all
To those who write in the guest book: We are grateful for your prayers and warm remembrances of our father. He was a remarkable person and loved life to its fullest. His example will live with us always.
Dear Liz: Sorry to learn of Merle's passing. Tried to write you after receiving your nice Christmas card but lost your address. Will see some of the S&C group Tuesday and let them know as well. My prayers are with you and your family.
