Bob was an exceptional man, and I am honored to have known him. I will always treasure his friendship, leadership, and guidance. He was an outstanding role model to so many around the world, inside Motorola and out. I truly believe I'm a better person for having known him, and I'll forever be grateful. My deepest condolences to the Galvins for your loss. God bless.
I was fortunate to be in the Motorola Law Department between 1970 and 1998. Bob Galvin symbolized Motorola for me. He was intelligent, humble, forward looking, caring of his employees and most of all, highly ethical.
America could use more Bob Galvins today.
I had the good fortune to be employed at Motorola from 1979 to 1998. I often saw Bob Galvin in the cafeteria of the Schaumburg Corporate Building. His warmth and friendly demeaner was always present to employees no matter what their job was. He was very special. I send my sincere condolences to the Galvin Family and Friends.
Bob encompassed the attributes of the global leader. He resonated with each of us for possibly different reasons and we all benefited by his presence and guidance.
I started my career at Motorola at the Franklin Park campus in the early 1970's. Mr. Galvin would come to our building, the back building, just to walk around and to say hello to his employees. There was never any pomp and circumstance. He would stop you in the hall and say Hi, and ask you how you were doing and if everything was ok. He was an amazing human being who always showed respect and true compassion for all of his employees. Everyone was always treated as part of a big family. I think of Bob often and admire the man he was. My sincere sympathy to the Galvin Family.
