Thank you for being a friend, mentor and personal coach during the 24 years that I spent at Anderson Union High School.
My dear Lois (aka Mom#2)Joan, Terry, Sue and Steve and families; My thoughts are with you all at this time...I was a little intimadated by the teacher I had in high school; there was so much respect for the man who always took the time to "know your name" and bring you "out" in the ways of giving "mouth to mouth" to a dummy in driver's ed...that seem to come to life...but I will mostly remember this wonderful man with such a love and devotion to his wife, his kids and those of us he seemed to "take under his wing"- Bob- your words of wisdom, your bark...and your gentle ways will always be remembered by this kid...I love you all AS BIG AS EARTH! Always my best, Sherri Stevenson Pate
To me and my siblings he's always been "Uncle Bob". I've read all of the beautiful notes left by all those who were touched by Uncle Bob's presence in their lives. What a legacy he's left behind not only for his own family but of those who came in contact with him. He reminded so much of his brother Jack, my Dad, who passed away over 20 year ago. When I had bypass surgery, Bob called me and was there for me just like my Dad would have been. When I heard his voice or saw him it made feel good knowing he was there for me. I still miss my Dad but now it makes it harder knowing Bob's not here. I'll miss his booming voice, his emails and his crazy stories. I know he and his brother are telling stories, playing cards and laughing. Both of their spirits live on in those of us who will someday again be with them. I miss you Uncle Bob and please hug my Dad for me. God Bless you and your family.
Bob and I were both born in Paonia - he was older than me by 6 days. He was a good friend and we participated in sports - football, basketball, track and baseball and were in cub scouts together. Although we didn't stay in touch much after high school, it was always great to see him at our high school reunions and swap stories about the good 'ole days. He will be missed at our 60th reunion in 2014.
Lois and family. Bob always kept us laughing when we were in high school. He was a great athlete and good friend. He will be sorely missed at our reunions.
