Ruth was also a longtime member and active participant in the Pacific Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. Her courage and optimism in the face of her illness was remarkable, but her contributions to the Fellowship were ongoing, both as an active member and as an advocate for progressive issues.
We send our deepest sympathy and condolences to Ruth's family and to Tod who was a wonderful partner to her. We'll remember Ruth as a courageous and steady woman. Whether she was paddling a long ocean crossing or facing her illness, she inspired us.
I am very sorry to hear of Ruth's passing, my condolences to her family. Years ago, I was an active sea kayaker, and became acquainted with Ruth on trips paddling in the waters of British Columbia and Puget Sound. She was a wonderful part of the team of paddlers. She was confident, knowledgeable and a fun person to be around. She will be missed.
With condolences to her family, and fondness and great respect for Ruth, Florence Sage
I was happy to have Ruth as a student at Lewis and Clark. We will miss her at our L&C reunions. Sent from Costa Rica. Ronald Collman
