Pictures of you and your family hang on my wall and every day I stand in my room looking at them in complete wonder. It's still hard to believe you're gone. It was a blessing to get to know you a little bit on a personal level and not just as the role of "my best friend's younger son." It'll never be forgotten how you and your brother treated the old girls (me and my sis) to a night out after that one transaction. Because of your appreciative nature you showed us such a great time, and neither of us will forget it. The laughter from that night is still with me, and our conversations during dinner are still amongst the fondest memories I have in life. Thank you, Willie, for the impact you've made on so many lives, and on so many levels.
I miss you and look forward to meeting you again. 'Til then, Peace!
I'm so sorry to read of your loss!! I personally did not know Willie. I am sure hes in a better place and will be missed sorely. I am a long lost friend of his uncle jack's. I have been searching for jack whitney for a few years online and sadly I came accross this news and the news of Carl whitney. I would love to reach out to jack can someone pass along my info to him? 8153072833
Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.
I know that there are no words that can ease the pain of losing someone so beloved. May the God of all comfort be with you all during this time of intense grief and always. (1 Cor 15:26) I'm very sorry for your loss.
Willie and I worked across the aisle from each other. Besides me, he was the only other active motorcyclist at our place of employment, so we quickly developed an appreciation for each other. We usually parked side-by-side in the morning and often compared notes about our common interest.
But that's not the part I'm going to miss most.
Willie's cheerful disposition made him a great coworker. No matter how busy we got, no matter how hairy things seemed, he would still keep smiling and moving forward. That's the part of Willie Carrington that I want to take with me as I continue on in my own life. That simple-yet-powerful element of his character is an example worth living up to, worth paying forward. My most heartfelt condolences go out to all who loved him.
