Dearest Grandma Pokie,
You were such an amazing woman. You had so much love and care in your heart and you will always be remembered for that. You treated everyone like family and loved everyone equal. You had a wonderful daughter (Bonnie) who had a wonderful daughter (Dina) who had a wonderful son (Vince) who i am so lucky to be able to call my husband now and who has a wonderful son (Jake) who i am also so lucky to call my son. :) We missed you at our wedding and wish you would have been well enough to come but we know you were thinking of us and we were thinking of you. You included me as family even before I was actually family :) Although we miss you terribly we know that you are up in Heaven dancing with the Angels and having an ice cold corona ;) we will always have you in our hearts and we know that you will always be smiling down on us.

My beloved big sister Willie Mac, remember the little town of Tuskahoma, nestled at the foothills of the Kiamichi mountains, where we spent our early childhood. The beautiful fall colors. The winters could be harsh. Our grandmother, Angie Morgan Boren Barnes, had a flock of geese. In the spring she would pick their soft feathers and make feather beds, pillows and some comforts. The only heat we had was from the fireplace and the old iron cook stove. The stove had a water reservoir at one end. In the spring we had a large vegetable garden. We had a dirt cellar where the canned jars of fruit and vegetables were stored on dirt shelves. We also used the cellar for shelter when the storms came thru. Our only candy was home made fudge. We always had home made ice cream on the 4th of July, what a treat. Our dad, Matt Harris
LeFlore raised cattle, hogs and goats. He always grew the hay and food for them. We loved to played with the piglets. Dad grew cotton, that was our cash crop. Life was pretty hard, but we did not know that. Our dad died in 1941 and then the war came and we were sent to Tulsa to live, little sisters Jackie, Nita, and brother Kirk. After a number of years our mother, Destie Bowen LeFlore married Arthur Spencer and they had a beautiful baby boy, our little brother Charles. We all spoiled him. They moved to Oregon and our Grandmother move back to her hometown of Wister, Oklahoma. Memories of Susie LeFlore Morgan.

Several years ago I had the pleasure of meeting a long lost cousin. Willie Mack Leflore Floyd was that cousin. Living 2000 miles away, I only got to meet her once, but that one time was enough for me to realize she was a very grand lady. Willie invited me into her home and gave me the hospitality that family gives family. From that one short visit I knew that she loved her family and that she was loved in return. I wish the distance had been shorter and the time had been longer, or that I had taken the time to know her better. I will miss Willie Mack so I know that her family will miss her more. My condolences are with each of you in this time of sorrow.
