Once a Hughey always a Hughey is what I would say to AB. Even after the divorce between his brother Lonnie and I AB has kept in touch with me for the past 40 plus years still calling me his sister in law.
AB you are going to be greatly missed but we will see you again one day. I know you are with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and also you are with Lonnie talking about the good old days you two shared. I feel really blessed to have had you in my life.

I did not have the honor of knowing Mr.Hughey, but I do know his sweet daughter Melissa. I cannot tell you how very sad I am for your loss and my thoughts and prayers will be with you all. I pray for God to wrap you all in His love and give you peace that only He can give.

Growing up Uncle AB always put a smile on my face. He was always very loving and spoke a lot of positive things to me when times weren't the best. I appreciate who he was too me and although I am sad to hear his life on earth was cut short and he will be missed, I am so proud to know he is in a great place and seeing Jesus face to face. My prayers go out to the family and for comfort to those who will miss him so much. I love you all! Cassey Mericle Graves

AB always was quick to welcome me into his home. He struggled with many issues but he also overcame them. He inspired me personally to live a healthier and active life, to lose weight and be more accepting of people that didn't see things from my perspective. He had integrity, was a hard worker and a good man that provided for his family. He was misunderstood sometimes but that was because he was always trying to make sense of the things he didn't understand. He completed everything he started and did the best he could while doing the work. I don't think I can praise a man more than this. Not any man. I only hope people can say the same about me when it's my day. Happy trails AB. You've rode off into that sunset for the last time and you've cast a long shadow for the rest of us to reflect in. Your laugh and unique personality will be missed. God bless you AB: Mike and Elaine Atencio Ruston, LA
