Al was one of my heroes as I grew up in the Yuma area. I am so glad to have sat with and visited with him at the Yuma Rotary Club during January.
To the family - I am so sorry I missed being there personally to say goodbye to Al and give you my condolences at his passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. He was progressive and a leader on so many levels.
I remember Al as a most wonderful and endearing person, who always gave encouragement, motivation and insight how to make the world a better place for all. I especially remember all his help during 4-H, as well as Elenore, who did so much for the community as well. We will miss you both and may God bless them and their family.
Al was one of the hardest working people we were ever associated with. He helped us start our life in farming and ranching after graduating from U of A. He had a wonderful sense of humor. His insight into Agriculture and business abilities were instrumental in our Yuma community. You will be missed by our family.
I remember Al very fondly as he encouraged me greatly in getting through college--even giving me a place to stay when needed.
