Alice Elizabeth Stepp

She was mother to a group of William and Mary students, most of whom attended a little mission church off Highway 5. We spent many hours in her and Adrian's home, laughing, singing, and eating her remarkable cooking. And when we needed to be cheered she was a great listener and friend. But that was 50 years ago when she was a young mom with three children of her own at home. She was one of the most loving people I ever knew; and we all loved her back.

I just learned today of her death, and it has saddened me. I am so glad to have seen her in the fall and to have caught up on years of history, hers and mine.

I didn't get to visit often, but I will miss her and will be sorry knowing that she won't be there the next time I am in Williamsburg.

Aunt Alice--I loved visiting with you and Adrian and watching you love on my kids. You always saw the best in people and made them want to live up to what you saw. I will miss your sweet spirit, beautiful smile, and caring manner.
