TOO BRIEF AN EMAIL EXCHANGE W/ GENE SHORTLY BEFORE HIS PASSING HAD REGISTERED HIS OPINION THAT I WAS A BETTER WRITER THAN AN ARTIST -- I ANSWERED THAT HE WAS PROBABLY CORRECT -- I KNEW GENE WAS TERMINAL & JUST COULD NOT TELL HIM THAT HE HAD NOT SEEN MY MEXICAN COLLECTION -- EVERYONE WAS ATTRACTED TO THIS TRULY FINE MAN --- BILL FOLEY - G-302
Thanks so much for forwarding these wonderful photos of your dad. I was a good friend of Chaplain Manning's and video taped many of the 94th reunions. I remember your dad well. He was a beautiful person. So often when I read the announcements I can't match a name but when I see the photos the fond memories at the reunions return. The ending photo on the beach was so beautiful.
God Bless your family. John Krokos
Gene Wise was a smart, kind, incredible man who loved his family and loved his work. He was always there at networking events, did so much for our organization - FIABCI in Atlanta, GA area and he made everyone smile when they were in his presence. He was truly a devoted man to those that served with him in the military, great Veteran and he will be missed. Dagmar Sands - Johns Creek, GA - FIABCI Atlanta Chapter President
My Dad and Gene were both in L-Company and I cannot thank Gene enough for always including me in his newletters once Dad past away. He was also the youngest of eight children, the youngest boy who was born in 1925. Gene was truly missed at the 2013 reunion and will alwyas be missed.

I am proud to have known Gene for many years. He was capable of being serious and dedicated when needed, but had the good sense to never take himself too seriously. He was a true gentleman and patriot and made my life so much richer. He deeply loved his family, God and country. What a great guy. Jenny Hall-Busch
