So sorry to just hear today that Barbara had died. Though just a child at the time, I remember spending time with her and the governor very well. In fact, my parents attended their wedding in California; and Dad was best man. My most vivid personal recollection, aside from her innate sweetness and his charisma, was an unusual habit she had that I emulated for many years: Instead of ordering dessert after dinner, she would have a bowl of soup. May she rest in peace knowing what valuable impressions she made on so many, young and old alike.

I always enjoyed watching my dad and his cousin Barbara together. Family was important to Barbara and she always made us feel welcome in her home. Barbara, we know you are in safe hands with the rest of the family now!
