Robert and Cherie,

Your mom (my aunt) was an inspiration to me and my family. Although I did not get to spend much time with her over the years the time spent with her was memorable. My family met your mom at the passing of her sister Minnie Christena (my mom) and she left an imprint on their young lives. Her life was filled with happiness and I know she is happy to be re-united with her beloved and family that went on before her! My condolences to you and your families.

To all of Bernie's family: The first time i met Bernie was on a bus trip with the church. We sat together on this trip. During our conversation we started name dropping and we both were thrilled because we knew so many of the same people. It made me feel like i had already known her. Now i wish i had met her through some of these people years ago. I don't know how we missed it. However, i loved her very much. She will be missed.
I thank God that we were able to study the Bible together in her home and talk about Him when we were together, no matter where we were, at a restaurant or the home she left behind.
Bernie wanted to meet all of my family. One of these Bright Mornings we will meet again, and she will meet my family.
She loved all of you very much. I was able to comfort her when she lost her grandson. I lost a daughter.
It is a bitter/sweet homegoing. She cannot come to us again, but we can go to her.
God bless each one of you with love and prayers.

I shed tears to hear of Bernie's passing. I knew her well at Bethany Baptist Church. I haven't seen her for several years since I moved to Grand Rapids, Mich with my new wife. Although she is rejoicing in the presence of our Lord, we will all miss her. Tom Wriedt

Cheri and Bobby, how sad I am to hear about Aunt Bernie's death, but more so about the suffering from the cancer she was afflicted with. I know that her death put her in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She and your dad were rays of sunshine at our family reunions. I will cherish the cards I have received from her while she was in the nursing home. We all knew this moment of her death was coming, but we always want our loved ones to linger just a little longer. I'm so glad to have been in the same family with such a great lady. May God comfort you and your families in your loss. You are in our prayers.

For our dear Aunt Bernie,

We will always remember your sweet smile, your kind & gentle words and your compassion. Some people should live forever just because they help so many others while they are here, and that's just what you did. You always thought about helping others, your generosity was huge. Thank you for being the beautiful person you were to all who knew you. You live forever in our memories and in our hearts.

Sending our love always,
Janice Gayle, Christina, Anthony, Roseanna & Joseph
