Bernie was a friend and neighbour you could always count on to help whenever you asked, and asked nothing in return, ever. Who does that? Bernie did.

You were the ULTIMATE UNCLE! Always full of laughs,humor, good times and great adventures! I was your Fat Cat.... I have great memories and wonderful stories that I will never forget. You were such a devoted uncle who constantly took an active interest in our lives from the very beginning. NOTHING was better than spending time with Uncle Bern. NOTHING was ever boring either when Uncle Bern was around. You continued to be a GREAT UNCLE even when my own children were born, consistently taking the time to joke with them, ask questions about the boys hockey,soccer, school life and their hobbies! EVERYONE NEEDS AN UNCLE BERN IN THEIR LIFE!! I was the lucky one to have had such a wonderful, caring, out of this world uncle like you ! You will truly be missed. I am very sorry to hear Bernie died. We have been friends since law school and had fun times skiing exploring the Squamish in an old river boat loading and shooting at Custer.Bernie was incredibly generous taking my family and many friends on fun outings to Custer. Recently he decided my hunting rifle needed the stock refinished and he spent a year doing a beautiful professional restoration I will treasure. Bernie was a dear loyal generous friend and I will miss him

I am so sorry to hear of Bernie's passing. We were very close friends in the late 1970's but, sadly did not keep in touch as life took us in different directions. I learned a love of Bernie's music taste during that time and will treasure our good times together. Have thought of him often over the years.
